↵2-a LM cells were incubated for 24 h or 48 h with mouse IL-1α (10 ng/ml) in the absence or presence of ITF1779 or ITF1493. At the end of the incubation times, supernatants were harvested and tested for IL-6 by means of a sandwich ELISA as described in “Materials and Methods.” Preliminary experiments had shown that neither ITF1779 nor ITF1493 interfered with the readout of the standard IL-6 preparation included in the ELISA (data not shown).
