Effects of EGTA on anti-IgE-induced contractions in human airways in absence or presence of AIC

Human bronchial rings were equilibrated for 90 min and stimulated with ACh (100 μM). After washing, the preparations were incubated 5 min in Tyrode’s solution or in Tyrode’s solution containing EGTA (4 mM). Tissues were then stimulated with a-IgE (dilution 1:1000). Protocols were performed in untreated tissues or in tissues pretreated with AIC (30 min).
