Liver and kidney microsomes were prepared from Fischer 344 rats 48 hr after treatment with Celite, BaSO4 or kaolin. Microsomal laurate ω- and ω-1 activities were measured as described in the text. Catalytic activities are expressed as nanomoles of product formed per minute per milligram of microsomal protein. For each determination, results are presented as mean ± S.D., with n = 5.
