Treatment effects on glycemic and inflammatory parameters

Fasted plasma glucose, insulin, CRP, and MCP-1 concentrations were measured at baseline, after 3, 5, and 7/8 weeks of treatment, and after 4 weeks of washout, as outlined under Materials and Methods. Data are expressed as mean values ± S.E.M. (n = 10 animals per group).
