Effect of YS121 on carrageenan-induced pleurisy in rats

Thirty minutes before intrapleural injection of carrageenan, male rats were treated intraperitoneally with YS121 (1.5 mg/kg), indomethacin (5 mg/kg), or vehicle (DMSO). Exudate volume, PGE_2, 6-keto PGF_1α, LTB₄, and inflammatory cell accumulation in the pleural cavity were assessed 4 h after carrageenan injection. PGE₂, 6-keto PGF_1α, and LTB₄ levels are expressed as nanograms per rat, which is the overall content of the prostanoid in the exudates. Data are given as mean ± S.E. (%); n = 10.
