Densitometric analysis of DAT and SERT binding autoradiograms from rats pretreated with and without citalopram before injection of HD-205

Rats tested for intrastriatal cocaine-induced locomotor activity with and without i.p. citalopram treatment (see Tables 2 and 3) were euthanized immediately after the final locomotor activity session. Brain coronal sections at the level of striatum were evaluated for effects of HD-205 blockade on both DAT and SERT with [125I]RTI-55 and [3H]citalopram, respectively, as described under Materials and Methods. The autoradiograms were quantified by densitometric analysis for the area affected by HD-205 in both the groups. Data are expressed as area of blockade of binding (pixels), and they are mean values ± S.E.M.
