Comparative effects of MeHg on IGABA block in α1- or α6-containing HEK-293 cells

This table summarizes the comparative effects of MeHg on IGABA block for α1 or α6 subunit-containing HEK-293 cells. The time-to-block by each concentration of MeHg did not differ significantly between α1 and α6 receptor subtypes. Note that for 0.1 μM MeHg, complete block of IGABA was not achieved in HEK-293 cells expressing either subtype of receptor [as indicated by the minus (—) symbol] because cells flattened out after ∼35 min, and recordings could not be maintained.
