Comparative effects of MeHg on I_GABA block in α₁- or α₆-containing HEK-293 cells

This table summarizes the comparative effects of MeHg on I_GABA block for α₁ or α₆ subunit-containing HEK-293 cells. The time-to-block by each concentration of MeHg did not differ significantly between α₁ and α₆ receptor subtypes. Note that for 0.1 μM MeHg, complete block of I_GABA was not achieved in HEK-293 cells expressing either subtype of receptor [as indicated by the minus (—) symbol] because cells flattened out after ∼35 min, and recordings could not be maintained.
