Measurements of cerebral blood flow, cerebral arteriovenous oxygen difference and mean arterial blood pressure were made by the nitrous oxide method before and after the intramuscular injection of dihydroergocornine in six tests on five normotensive subjects. 2. Cerebral blood flow and cerebral oxygen uptake were essentially unchanged although mean arterial pressure was significantly decreased. Cerebral vascular resistance decreased slightly but not significantly. The cerebral circulatory response of normotensive patients differed from that of hypertensive patients following clihydroergocornine in that the cerebral vascular resistance was not significantly decreased.
