ROSS Y1 - 1948/02/01 UR - http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/content/92/2/108.abstract N2 - The effects of dl-(3 ,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-2-aminoethanol (Arterenol) and its nitrogen alkyl homologs, methyl (dl-epinephrine), ethyl, isopropyl, n-propyl, sec-butyl, and ter-butylarterenol, have been determined with the usual pharmacological test objects, including man. These agents have both excitatory and inhibitory actions, with arterenol and dl-epinephrine having the greatest excitatory activity, the ethyl some, and the others little; while the isopropyl, ter-butyl, and ethyl have the greatest inhibitory activity, the methyl some, and the others little, with arterenol very little or none. 1948 by The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics ER -
