Following oral administration to rats, ten of the compounds are excreted largely in the feces, one chiefly in the urine, and one is almost equally divided between the two materials. Two 4-isothiocyanobenzenesulfonamides gave interesting and unexpected results. There appears to be a substance in normal rat feces, and in acetone extracts thereof, which in some way prevents full color development by these compounds after hydrolysis. The remaining seven compounds are hydrolyzed with difficulty, and a satisfactory analytical method has not yet been worked out. 1946 by The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics
