AB 1. Twenty-four compounds were investigated for their possible chemical combination with tissue aldehydes, using frozen sections of rat kidneys as test material. 2. A theory that tissue aldehydes may serve as acceptor substances in the cell for certain drugs is advanced. 3. The similarity of the chemical reactions of tissue aldehydes and Kohn's metabolite B has been shown.
