The experiments set forth in this communication give a first approximation of the pharmacology of phenazine and certain of its derivatives. 2. The phenazine nucleus appears to be quite inert as a pharmacologic agent, but its methosulfate exhibits a marked pressor response. 3. The soluble metho and ethosulfates of phenazine are mildly active against bacteria in vitro. 4. Preliminary antimalarial and analgesic tests on certain phenazine derivatives were negative. ER -
