AB  - 1. The dynamic interrelationships between the blood flow in the thoracic inferior vena cava and the portal vein and the arterial, venous and portal pressures were studied in the intact anesthetized dog. 2. The effects of adrenalin, histamine, pitressin, amyl nitrite, acetylcholine, mecholyl, atropine, saline and vagus section on the hepatoportal and systemic circuits are analyzed. 3. It is shown that the factors involved are integrated in different ways by different drugs, depending on the location of the dominating mechanism brought into action by the drug.
