ELLSWORTH YR 1937 UL http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/content/59/1/114.abstract AB The effect of arterenol upon the blood pressure of ergotaminized decapitate cats is often though not invariably similar to the effect observed by Cannon and Rosenblueth to result from the stimulation of the hepatic nerves. Because of this similarity in action and because it is conceivably of biological origin, it is suggested that the substance known as arterenol may be the substance which is liberated when the hepatic sympathetic nerves are stimulated.
