M. FRASER Y1 - 1937/05/01 UR - http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/content/60/1/89.abstract N2 - 1. Postlobin-O, administered subcutaneously, increases urine output in hydrated and non-hydrated rats. 2. The diuretic action of postlobin-O is not due to the pressor hormone contaminating it. 3. Pitocin produces a diuretic effect in non-hydrated rats equal to that of postlobin-O. 4. Postlobin-O antagonizes the antidiuretic action of postlobin-V. Therefore, the rat antidiuretic assay method is only of value when the ratio between oxytocic and pressor activities of the standard preparation is similar to that of the unknown preparation. ER -
