In 33 obese patients, the arm-to-tongue circulation time was measured by the intravenous saccharin method. The average of the group was 13.3 seconds, essentially normal figures. 2. In 14 of the group, dinitrophenol (1-2-4) was given, and further determinations of the circulation time made. In 7 patients an increase in blood velocity was noted, the average acceleration being 3.3 seconds per patient. 3. Further studies are indicated to determine the manner in which such speeding up of the blood flow is brought about. ER -
