Depression of conductivity of nerve. 3. Depression and excitation of the central nervous system in a manner similar to morphine. The depression of the respiratory centre is the most marked. 4. Vaso-dilatation of peripheral vessels which, in conjunction with the reduced output from the heart, produces a fall in blood pressure. 5.
