AB  - A thio ether analogue of phenylbutazone, G-25671, is converted in man to a sulfoxide, sulfinpyrazone, which was isolated from urine as an optically active form. Sulfinpyrazone in turn is metabolized in man by the introduction of a hydroxyl group in the para position of the benzene ring. Hydroxy-sulfinpyrazone is rapidly metabolized and excreted and has potent uricosuric activity.
