Pretreatment with sodium pentobarbital significantly blocked the adrenal ascorbic acid reduction effects of aspirin and morphine but not of epinephrine or histamine. Pretreatment with Dibenzyline partially blocked only the response to epinephrine. Nalorphine blocked only the action of morphine. Chlorpromazine and reserpine both significantly blocked the effects of epinephrine and to a lesser degree those of morphine. It would seem, therefore, that a common effector site for the activating drugs cannot be assumed. © 1957 by The Williams & Wilkins Co. ER -
