AB  - The administration of reserpine to rabbits, rats or guinea pigs causes the liberation of serotonin from blood platelets without causing their disruption. The loss of over 90 per cent of platelet serotonin has no significant effect on bleeding time. It is improbable, therefore, that serotonin participates in the mechanism of hemostasis.
