The drug had a depressant action on spinal interneurons similar to that of mephenesin. 2. Its potency was approximately one-third of that of mephenesin and its duration of action was shorter. 3. The action of mephenesin on the EEG suggested depression of interneurons in the brain stem activating system and in thalamo-cortical pathways. In contrast Prenderol showed stimulating effects above the spinal level.
