Abstract
1. The distribution of iodide in tuberculous, syphilitic and tumor tissues, and in cystic and transudate fluids has been determined, and compared to that of chloride and thiocyanate.
2. As with normal tissues it was found that the relative concentration in terms of tissue/blood or tissue/serum ratio was alike for the three substances.
3. The conclusion is reached that here as in normal tissues, iodides and also thiocyanates are distributed practically entirely in extracellular fluid.
4. The similarity of distribution of iodide, chloride and thiocyanate renders improbable a selective chemical or physical relationship of iodide to pathological tissues.
