Abstract
Four glycosides of the tree sap, and four of the seeds of Antiaris toxicaria, and three of their chemically modified products, have been studied in frogs and cats. They all show a digitalis-like effect on the heart. Assays in cats anesthetized with ether reveal that the natural glycosides are highly potent.
