Abstract
Tyramine injected into the sinus node artery produces more tachycardia (both in peak level and duration) in normal than in reserpinized dogs. The duration of sinus tachycardia from tyramine is much longer than that from norepinephnine administered in the same manner. The responsiveness to tyramine by the sinus node of reserpinized dogs can be transiently restored to normal with norepinephrine, hut not by isoproterenol. Norepinephrine injected into the sinus node artery of reserpinized dogs does not restore the accelerative response to stimulation of the stellate ganglion.
