Abstract
A number of different enzymes were tested to determine their effect on the action of barbiturates in the body. Among those producing positive effects were proteolytic enzymes, hyaluronidase and lecithinase. It is suggested that the findings are associated with changes in permeability of the blood-brain harrier produced by the enzymes.
