The most active known antihistaminic agents have been tested for their ability to antagonize the depressor response of histamine on blood pressure in the dog, and their activity compared on a quantitative basis.
The three most promising available compounds, Pyribenzamine, Benadryl, and dimethylaminoethylphenyl-
-thienylglycolate (0-2, 315) were shown to he able to antagonize the various cardiovascular effects of histamine in the guinea pig, rat, rabbit and cat.
