THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHEMICAL STRUCTURE AND SPASMOLYTIC ACTION OF SOME NEW ANTICOLINERGIC ESTERS

1. Anticholinergic spasmolytic compounds may be obtained by replacing the hydrogen atoms of various aminoalkyl acetates by phenyl, cyclohexyl, agr-thienyl, or hydroxyl groups.

2. Highly active spasmolytic compounds are obtained with trisubstituted acetates wherein an hydroxyl group is combined with agr-thienyl, phenyl or cyclohexyl groups.

3. The unsubstituted acetates of these aminoalcohols are cholinergic (muscarinic).
