1. Eight morpholine alkyl esters have been examined for toxicity, for antispasmodic activity on excised intestine and uterus and on the ileum of anesthetized dogs.

2. The evidence presented suggests that these compounds act as spasmolytic agents by direct depression of smooth muscle.

3. S-29, w-4-Morpholinehexyl diphenylacetate HCl, is the outstanding member of the series from the point of view of moderate toxicity combined with superior spasmolytic activity on the intestine and especially on the uterus. On the basis of this investigation it would seem to merit clinical trial.
