1 From the Medical Service, Harlem Hospital, Department of Hospitals, New York City, and the Littauer Pneumonia Research Fund of New York University College of Medicine
Blood levels of 4 to 6 mgm. per 100 cc. or higher may be obtained within 2
hours when sodium sulfapyridine is administered 5 grams statim and 1 gram every 4 hours day and night.
With sodium sulfapyridine less acetyl sulfapyridine is present in the blood than when sulfapyridine is given.
Sodium sulfapyridine, orally administered in the dose used, caused no gastrointestinal irritation other than nausea and vomiting.
