A BIOLOGICAL ASSAY OF STILBESTROL

A comparative biological assay of Stilbestrol against crystalline estrone was made. The amounts necessary for the rat unit, i.e., the amount necessary to produce estrus in 50 per cent of a large group of castrate rats, was as follows: Single injection in oil for estrone, 3.0 gamma; for Stilbestrol, 0.95 gamma; and multiple injections, aqueous, for estrone, 0.92 gamma; for Stilbestrol, 0.62 gamma.
