ANAESTHESIA WITH CYCLOPROPANE DERIVATIVES

V. E. HENDERSON 1 and S. F. MACDONALD 1

1 Department of Pharmacology, University of Toronto

The anaesthetic effects of methylcyclopropane, 1:2-di-methyl, 1:2:3-trimethyl cyclopropanes have been examined. They are not suitable for anaesthesia; produce apparently more cardiac irregularities than cyclopropane, increasing in persistance in the series; low blood pressure; and a deleterious effect on cardiac contractility. Also they produce more marked tonus effects.
