1. The evidence for difference in the ionic properties of the cations as a factor in the quantitative reaction of choline-like compounds with cells is discussed.

2. It is shown that the rate of hydrolysis by blood esterase of the acetyl group of acetylcholine chloride and its phosphorus and arsenic analogues is identical.
