THE THEORY OF ANESTHESIA AND THE PROBLEM OF TOXICITY

A discussion of the toxicity of anesthetic gases is given. Three types are distinguished : (a) due to changes in the anesthetic in the body; (b) due to secondary effects produced in metabolism; (c) inherent in the specific anesthetic.
