Appropriate estimation of drug-receptor dissociation constants with pharmacological techniques depends upon the stoichiometry of the reaction involved. The data presented in this paper suggest that both stimulant drugs and competitive antagonists interact on a one-to-one basis with the nicotinic receptor of the guinea-pig lumbrical muscle.
