1 Geigy Research, Division of Geigy Chemical Corporation, Ardsley, New York

In rats, 10 to 13 months old, 6-sulfanilamidoindazole produces a chronic periarthritis which differs from that induced by mycobacterial adjuvant in regard to etiology, symptomatology and therapeutic susceptibility. Simultaneous administration of nonsteroidal and steroidal antiinflammatory agents suppress the periarthritis induced by 6-sulfanilamidoindazole. Immunosuppressive agents are ineffective.
