CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM DEPRESSANT ACTIVITY OF MA1337, 3-[3-(4-m-CHLOROPHENYL-l-PIPERAZYL)PROPYL]-2,4(1H,3H)QUINAZOLINEDIONE HYDROCHLORIDE

In a battery of tests, MA1337, a newly synthesized quinazolinedione derivative, was found to have central nervous system depressant activity at doses ranging from 0.06% to 1.9% of its acute LD50 in mice and rats. The dose-response curves of central depressant activity of MA1337 were flat. A blind cross-over behavioral observation in chronic dogs and cats for evaluation of central nervous system activity is described.
