CHLORINATED ARYLALKYLAMINES AFFECTING THE CEREBRAL METABOLISM OF 5-HYDROXYTRYPTAMINE

A. Pletscher 1, G. Bartholini 1, H. Bruderer 1, W. P. Burkard 1, and K. F. Gey 1

1 Medical and Chemical Research Departments, F. Hoffmann-La Roche & Co. Ltd., Basel, Switzerland

In the article "Chlorinated Arylalkylamines Affecting the Cerebral Metabolism of 5-Hydroxytryptamine" by A. Pletscher, G. Bartholini, H. Bruderer, W. P. Burkard and K. F. Gey (Volume 145, pages 344-350, September 1964), the second formula of table 4 on page 348 should be:

dl-4-chloro-amphetamine

See the equation in PDF file

(instead of 4-chloro-N-methyl-phenylethylamine)

Correspondingly, the last sentence of the last paragraph on page 346 should read: "dl-4-Chloro-amphetamine as well as dl-3,4-dichloro-amphetamine, however, induces a depletion of cerebral 5HT like Ro 4-6861 (table 4)."
