THE EFFECT OF HEPARIN ON THE ARGININE (BAEE) ESTERASE ACTIVITY OF BLOOD

Addition of heparin in small quantities to whole blood, serum, or oxalated plasma causes an increase in the rate of hydrolysis of benzoyl-1-arginine ethyl ester. Larger quantities of heparin will inhibit this esterase activity of blood.
