PHARMACOLOGICAL STUDIES WITH DESERPIDINE, A NEW ALKALOID FROM RAUWOLFIA CANESCENS

The pharmacologic effects of deserpidine were compared to those of reserpine. No significant differences between the effects of the two alkaloids could be found. This indicates that the methoxy group in ring A of reserpine is not essential for its pharmacologic activity.
