Pharmacological of Sixty-Four Cardiac Glycosides and Aglycogens

K. K. Chen 1 and Francis G. Henderson 1

1 Lilly Research Laboratories, Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis 6, Indiana

The following errors occurred in the article by Chen and Henderson: THIS JOURNAL, 111: 365, 1954:

On page 369, the third from the last sentence should read, "In fact, a chemical classification of different variants has been suggested (Richter, Mohr and Reichstein, 1953)."

On page 373, paragraph 3, line 2, [V] should be substituted for [VI] so that the sentence reads, "The aglycone of milloside, paulioside and stroboside (Nos. 23-25) is corotoxigenin [V] which has the same spatial isomerism as uzarigenin except that the angular methyl group at C10 is replaced by an aldehyde group (Schindler and Reichstein, 1952)."

On page 374, paragraph 2, line 2, [VI] should be substituted for [V] so that the sentence reads, "Oxidation of the aglycone periplogenin gives rise to an unsaturated ketone, 5-anhydro-periplogenone [VI](No. 29), a product analogous to steroid hormones provided the lactone ring is ignored (Helfenberger and Reichstein, 1952)."

On page 379, second line from the bottom, "corotoxigenin" should be substituted for "corotoxigen" so that the sentence reads, "By the same token, glycosides of corotoxigenin [V] are not highly active."
