A. D. Bass 1, H. F. Diermeier 1, H. S. Di Stefano 1, and E. J. Cafruny 1

1 Departments of Pharmacology and Anatomy, State University of New York at Syracuse, College of Medicine, Syracuse, N. Y.

1. Administration of alloxan monohydrate to rats and rabbits results in an increase of DNA per liver cell nucleus.

2. Pancreatectomy does not result in any change in DNA content per liver cell nucleus.

3. The data presented indicate that this increase is a specific one not related to the diabetic state.
