THE MECHANISM OF ACTION OF MONOFLUOROETHANOL

The experiments reported emphasize the lack of biological reactivity of mono-fluoroethanol itself and indicate that its toxic effects result from an oxidation to fluoroacetic acid by tissue alcohol dehydrogenase.
