STUDIES OF THE METABOLISM OF GALLIUM. III. DEPOSITION IN AND CLEARANCE FROM BONE

Studies of the effect of dose and route of administration on experimental animals indicate that the quantity of gallium deposited in normal bone, following administration of gallium citrate, is independent of the route of administration but is directly proportional to the dose between 1 and 15 mgm. Ga/kgm.

Gallium content of normal bone showed little decrease from 24 hours to 6 months following administration of gallium citrate.

No significant increase in the urinary excretion of gallium was occasioned by administration of various complexing agents, NH4Cl, and BAL.
