The solubility of cyclopropane in olive oil and in pooled rat fat was determined at various temperatures using the Warburg apparatus.
The results obtained by this method agreed very well with values obtained with a Van Slyke method and in a tonometer system. These values are considerably higher than those previously reported.
The Warburg apparatus can be easily adapted for measuring gas solubility and might be employed to determine the solubility of some of the other highly soluble gases.
