Experiments were carried out to study whether or not ischemic skeletal muscle, which had been shown to be sensitive to k-strophanthoside, would respond to other cardioactive bodies.

Each of ten drugs tested produced a marked increase in the amplitude of contraction of isehemic skeletal muscle. Possible quantitative differences among several of the preparations are suggested.
