A study of the effects of four locally applied antihistaminic agents against the response to intracutaneous histamine was carried out in rabbits using the trypan blue method.
Pyribenzamine, Decapryn and Neo-Antergan were found to be effective in diminishing the amount of dye infiltration caused by histamine.
Thephorin was found to be completely ineffective in this regard.
